Day 4 Amazing Book's - Children's Book's Tour: Kaye Tolentino

Kaye Tolentino - Book Author Author Bio:  


SOMETHING ABOUT Kaye Tolentino, a.k.a. Miss Kaye, is a Filipina writer who writes on improving kids’ well-being. In her debut children’s picture book, Guess How Marion Feels, she helps adults support kids in having awareness of others’ emotions including themselves. 

 A book that is dear to her heart because it’s her personal experience of overcoming something that was once her challenge. Miss Kaye KAYE TOLENTINO During a meditation course, she came up with the idea of crafting a book to empower kids especially those with emotional and social cues struggles. She acted on the idea by pitching it to a group invested in self-discovery that is based in Canada. 

The leaders liked the idea resulting in her having a seed fund to kickstart her book project. Despite being dyslexic, you may find her reading in her free time. One of her all- time favourites is the book written by Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven. It was the first book she ever purchased. A book that is about a humble guy who worked as a maintenance guy in a theme park and died upon saving someone while he was on duty. But, before he left the world, he met the five people he directly and indirectly affected each others’ lives. 




 Given her keenest to see more goodness, she is working on improving her writing to better the world.

Tracy Kauffman ..

has had a passion for writing since she was in the 2nd grade when she won the title of Editor in her school newspaper. Tracy lives in Alabama with her husband and two dogs. She is a full-time nurse but has enjoyed writing books as a hobby. 

Tracy's main genre includes young adult and kids books but she has written in other genres including historical fiction, poetry and Christian works. 5-Minute Kindness-Breathing Session
 

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His loving kindness endures forever. Psalm 136
  • Find a comfortable seated position
  • Relax your shoulders and close your eyes
  • Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen
  1. Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 counts, feeling your abdomen expand
  2. Purse your lips as if you're gently blowing out a candle
  3. Exhale slowly through pursed lips for 6 counts
  4. As you breathe, focus on the following kindness affirmations:
    • Inhale: "I am worthy of kindness"
    • Exhale: "I extend kindness to others"
    • Inhale: "I embrace compassion"
    • Exhale: "I release judgment"
    • Inhale: "I am patient with myself"
    • Exhale: "I am patient with others"
  5. Repeat this breathing pattern for 4 minutes

Come back to present:

  • Take a deep breath in through your nose
  • Hold for a moment, feeling gratitude for this practice
  • Exhale slowly through pursed lips, releasing any tension
  • Slowly open your eyes and carry this sense of kindness with you

Hi, I am Jan from Australia, thank you for visiting my website. I am a mother of three who grew up with 4 brothers in country Victoria, where the local landscape consisted of dairy farms, abandoned gold mines, rivers and old logging tracks in the mountains where there was an abundance of snakes, rabbits, birds & bats etc.

My husband and I moved from Victoria to Cairns, Queensland in 1980. End of the 90's we bought a property on the Atherton Tablelands where we would escape to on the weekends. As our property was untouched forest, there was an abundance of wildlife.

As I noticed birds coming into the garden, I started putting out sunflower seeds. Before we knew it, during the day Rainbow Lorikeets came, King Parrots, Cockatoo's, Goanna's and occasionally snakes etc. it was so exciting. (For me it definitely was) At night we saw Padymelon's, Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Owls, several varieties of Possums, Night Spiders (Garden Orbs), Pythons and Night Tigers. Watching the way the wildlife interacted with one another inspired the writing of the lorikeets series.

I hope the stories create a window for children to experience and enjoy the antics of the wildlife that were frequent visitors to our garden as much as I did.

  5. Repeat this cycle 3-5 times, focusing on the sensation of your breath.
  6. With each exhale, let go of tension and cultivate a sense of gratitude.
