Day 4 Amazing Book's - Children's Book's Tour: Kaye Tolentino

Kaye Tolentino - Book Author Author Bio:

SOMETHING ABOUT Kaye Tolentino, a.k.a. Miss Kaye, is a Filipina writer who writes on improving kids’ well-being. In her debut children’s picture book, Guess How Marion Feels, she helps adults support kids in having awareness of others’ emotions including themselves.

A book that is dear to her heart because it’s her personal experience of overcoming something that was once her challenge. Miss Kaye KAYE TOLENTINO During a meditation course, she came up with the idea of crafting a book to empower kids especially those with emotional and social cues struggles. She acted on the idea by pitching it to a group invested in self-discovery that is based in Canada.

The leaders liked the idea resulting in her having a seed fund to kickstart her book project. Despite being dyslexic, you may find her reading in her free time. One of her all- time favourites is the book written by Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven. It was the first book she ever purchased. A book that is about a humble guy who worked as a maintenance guy in a theme park and died upon saving someone while he was on duty. But, before he left the world, he met the five people he directly and indirectly affected each others’ lives.

Given her keenest to see more goodness, she is working on improving her writing to better the world.

Book Blurb: "Look at Marion's face... He is smiling.    His face is bright. His body is relaxed and rested.    Can you guess how Marion feels?"

Like Pixar’s Inside Out, Guess How Marion Feels helps adults and kids understand emotions BUT without the journey in the brain.

Using OUR five senses, this interactive book makes learning practical. Increase the child’s awareness of others’ feelings. Also, of their feelings!

A picture book approved by science experts, lecturers, and literature experts turns adults into emotion gurus! Help them build the right foundation of emotions because they will be forever grateful to you for having harmonious relationships.

Turning pinecones into adorable bird feeders is one of Phoenix Tree Gallery's favorite simple crafts.

What You'll Need

  • Large open pinecones
  • Peanut butter
  • Twine (about 10 inches per feeder)
  • Birdseed (try "Outdoor Songbird Mix")

Steps

  1. Tie twine around the top of the pinecone, creating a loop for hanging.
  2. Spread peanut butter all over the pinecone scales.
  3. Roll the sticky pinecone in birdseed until well-covered.
  4. Hang your feeder outside and watch the birds enjoy!

Pro Tips

  • Work on a paper towel or plate to contain the mess.
  • For extra fun, roll the whole pinecone in peanut butter, then birdseed!
  • Use fallen pinecones from your yard or grab some from a craft store.

Enjoy connecting with nature and watching happy birds in your garden!
