5-Minute Kindness-Breathing Session

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His loving kindness endures forever. Psalm 136- Find a comfortable seated position
- Relax your shoulders and close your eyes
- Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen
- Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 counts, feeling your abdomen expand
- Purse your lips as if you're gently blowing out a candle
- Exhale slowly through pursed lips for 6 counts
- As you breathe, focus on the following kindness affirmations:
- Inhale: "I am worthy of kindness"
- Exhale: "I extend kindness to others"
- Inhale: "I embrace compassion"
- Exhale: "I release judgment"
- Inhale: "I am patient with myself"
- Exhale: "I am patient with others"
- Repeat this breathing pattern for 4 minutes
Come back to present:
- Take a deep breath in through your nose
- Hold for a moment, feeling gratitude for this practice
- Exhale slowly through pursed lips, releasing any tension
- Slowly open your eyes and carry this sense of kindness with you
