A Breath of Magick: A Simple 5-Minute Meditation for Busy Parents

 



Hey there, magickal souls!

Lori Wayfair here, author and parent extraordinaire (or at least I try to be!). Let me tell you, my journey as a parent and author has been quite the rollercoaster – challenging, rewarding, and sometimes downright crazy. I mean, finding time to read a book can feel like a luxury, let alone writing one! But here we are, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share a little bit of magick with you today.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Lori, I barely have time to brush my teeth, let alone meditate!" Trust me, I get it. That's why I'm sharing this super simple, 5-minute meditation that even the busiest parent can squeeze into their day. You can find many tips and practices that busy parents can apply in my book, Being Magickal.

This little meditation has been a game-changer for me, helping me center myself, boost my self-awareness, and connect with that divine energy we all need to get through the day. Ready to give it a whirl? If your kids are down you can always invite them to join! But a little alone time can always go a long way. So whatever works for you!



The "Breath of Magick" Meditation:

  1. Find a comfy spot to sit. Your favorite armchair, the floor, even the closed toilet seat if you're hiding from the kids – no judgment here!

  2. Close those beautiful eyes of yours and take a deep breath.

  3. Imagine a warm, golden light surrounding you. (Think of it as your personal, sparkly force field against chaos.)

  4. As you breathe in, visualize this light filling your body from head to toe.

  5. When you exhale, let go of any stress, tension, or that annoyance from stepping on yet another Lego.

  6. Keep this up for 5 minutes, focusing on your breath and that golden glow.

Now, I know what you're wondering – "Does this actually work, Lori?" Well, let me spill the tea. This little practice has been my secret weapon for staying sane in the parenting trenches. It's helped me find my center when the kids are going bananas, boosted my self-awareness, and even sparked some pretty cool creative ideas for my books.

But here's the real kicker – this meditation has helped me connect to something bigger than myself. Call it the Divine, the Universe, or whatever floats your boat. It's like a direct line to pure, cleansing energy and sometimes, I swear, a bit of cosmic wisdom. Don't be surprised if you have an "aha!" moment mid-meditation. It happens!

Now, I know finding even 5 minutes can feel impossible some days. But trust me, it's worth it.


Try sneaking it in during your morning coffee, while the kids are engrossed in their favorite show, or even in the car before you pick them up from school. The key is consistency – a little bit every day goes a long way.
